Small loss to small profit

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

So tonight we had 3 bets.

Man City -0.75 against Newcastle evens.  Both teams are shocking but Newcastle are more so.

Blackburn – Bolton Unders at 1.8.  I figured a draw or 1-0 either way.

West Ham to beat Hull at 1.83.  Two teams heading in opposite directions.

Scores ended up

2-1 Man City Win £50

2-2 Blackburn/ Bolton  lose £100

2-0 West Ham, win £85.

Profit for the night £33.  If only we’d have gone for the draw in the Blackburn game.  Would never have guessed 2-2 all.  Never mind.  Bank now at +£16.  Thats a mega £8 each!

Dodged a Bullet but hit tonight

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

So Sunday, Man U win 2-1.  It was that score at half time.  Bullet dodged.

Tonight was a very predictable night.  All favourites won.  Pity we didn’t have a bet in the premiership.  Our bet was Sheffield Utd to beat Donny and Leicester double.  Donny win 1-0 and Leicester draw 0-0.  £100 staked and £100 lost.

Pod’s magic touch has been lost.  Looking at Man City tomorrow to get us back to winning ways.

Bank down to -£17.  Not too happy about that.

Its going to be a bad day

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

So Villa can only manage a 0-0. Could have got out at about 75 minutes when the pirce for laying Villa was 2/1. I suppose we should have hedged the draw a little earlier but sods law would have made Doncaster win. Bank at +£83.

Next bet is Man U/ Spurs under 3 goals on the goal line. Goal line bet means that exactly 3 goals is a push. Price is 1.85, £100 staked. Not a good start though. Spurs score after 5 minutes. Hoping for 1-1 draw now.

Make money from a weak pound?

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

I was in the pub last night and the topic of the weak pound came up.  We were planning on going for a European cycling trip.  With the weak pound though, everything is going to be expensive.  I was in Amsterdam in September 2008.  I was paying 5 Euros for a pint of Heiniken.  At the time that was about £4.  Expensive but I could stomach that.  Now thats about £5, I am thinking that its not worth it.

The question came up, should my friend change all his savings to Euros?  From my GCSE economics I remember that 2 main things affect the value of a currency.  Interest rates and the demand for that countries goods and services.  Interest rates are low and are likely to go lower.  So no value is going to come from that.  I can’t think what the UK produces that can’t be brought abroad in a different currency.  If an alien came to earth, why would they buy any streling pounds?

So I am thinking that the pound is screwed.  So how am I going to make from a week pound?  I was looking at betting on the Forex..

I found this site where you can bet on it. No messing around with changing currency you just bet and take any profit. See the guide below.

Come on Villa

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Last bet was a half winner.  Everton equaliser made it 1-1 so the unders bet only paid out half.  At least its better than a loss.  Bank now at +£183.

We skipped the midweek bets.  Pod had £180 on Man U minus 2 on the Asian against Derby.  About 5 minutes to go it was 4-1.  Derby score, making it 4-2 making a winning bet as push.  Gutted for him.

Today we have a West Ham/ Villa double.  West Ham have already won 2-0.  Odds on Villa are going up.  I think O’Neil is putting out a slighter weakened side.  I think they can still do Donny though.  Price this morning was 1.73 for Villa.  Price is now 1.91.  Thursday night it was 1.67.

Price for double is 3.02, £100 staked.

Monday night bet

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Arsenal win 3-1 and Spurs screw us over by only drawing 1-1.  Bent should be shot for missing his chance at the end.  Never mind, we are still up.  Bank is now +£142.   Would have been a bad week for the bookies.  Practically all results went to the favourites.  Only Spurs/ Pompey was a draw.

On to tonight.  Pod says Liverpool.  I think 0-0, or 1-0 either way.  So the bet we are having is 1.83 under 2.25 goals.  How do you have under 2.25 goals?  Well it means under 2 goals, we win at 1.83, exactly 2 goals we win at 1.415.  3 or more goals and we lose.  £100 staked.

This weekends bets

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Swansea and Sheffield United do the business.  Bank up to +£242.  Was a bit worried when Sheff Utd went behind but they win 4-1.

This week, we are sticking with the winning formula of betting on whatever Pod says.  Midweek, he said, lets have Chelsea on the handicap.  I laughed and said no.  Chelsea come out 4-1 winners beating the handicap.  He just seems to be on a roll.  So this week is a Spurs/ Arsenal double.  Price is 2.88.  £100 staked.

Not over the moon about this bet.  Spurs are playing crap and Arsenal aren’t playing that well.  Personally I think the bet of the week is Blackburn to beat Newcastle at 2.1.

So much for the black list

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

So Man U hammer Chelsea 3-0.  Who’d have thought one nil wonders Man U would win so convincingly. I can’t remember Van Der Saar making a single save in the game. I hope Chelsea just implode now. The have cost us so much money. Bank now down to £0.

Onwards and upwards anyway. Tonight we are having Sheffield United and Swansea double. Looking on oddschecker and the best price was 3.17 on Canbet. However, good old Jenningbet gave us 3.4. I guess there are advantages of looking at bookies that aren’t on oddschecker. £100 staked.

No reason at all for this bet. Pod’s on a lucky streak at the moment. I don’t mean like picking winners. Everything he’s touched recently has one (apart from our bets). Just called me, been in to William Hill and playing on those roulette machines. Won £130. Now, you are not meant to win on those machines. Thats luck. So fingers crossed for a big win tonight.

Chelsea Man U Bet

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Well Liverpool screw us over again.  I was thinking that they could win the league this year.  Benitez is a prick.  Fancy leaving Torres and Keanne on the bench.  Still a profitable day though.  Sheffield United and Everton do the business.  Bank now up to +£103.

So today we are having £103 on Man U/ Chelsea draw.  Price is 3.2.  Can’t pick a winner so the draw is the logical result.  1-1 most likely score we think.

Weekend bets – looking good

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Had a couple of doubles this weekend.  Villa and Liverpool at 2.09.  Couple premiership bankers.  Arsenal are too dodgey so left them out.  Other one is with our blacklisted team, Sheffield United and Everton, price 2.83.

Looking good.  Villa have won 2-1.  Sheff U and Everton both 1 up.  Fingers crossed for those teams hanging on.  Can’t see Liverpool slipping up.
