Betting Blog – Bang and Pod’s bets

The syndicate is technically bust this month.  We’ve had to dip in to the reserve fund!!

We had this bright idea of doubling Chelsea with Spurs and Sunderland.  We were debating the exact staking on the games so we decided to stick £200 on Chelsea on the Saturday and decide on Sunday the exact perm on Sunday.

Chelsea drawing 0-0 wiped us out. That was matched at 1.04 before kick off. I guess the bookies are laughing all the way to the bank with that result. Jenningbet must also be laughing at signing me up. Haven’t won a bet with them since I joined.

So Sunday we dip in to the emergency fund. £100 on Spurs straight at 1.72 and £50 on Spurs Sunderland double at some other price. Spurs win +£72, Sunderland lose so down £50. Net result +£22.

So after the weekend the syndicate is down to -£378. Why did we even bother this month?

With no luck with the footy betting, maybe reality TV betting is the way forward.  Got this from Paddypower yesterday.  Guess there is a gem or two in there.

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here

Producers of this year’s show have wasted no time introducing the fear factor to the jungle. We’ve already seen some testicle crunching from Joe Swash and Nicola McLean. There are still a few weeks to go yet but chances are Robert Kilroy Silk won’t be around to see them if the odds are correct. The jungle bully is just 2/1 to be the first celebrity axed from the jungle.

X-Factor

Six will become five this week as one more act will get the chop. Rachel Hylton looks to be in trouble this week with Paddy Power making her their firm favourite at 4/6 to become the next act voted off the show. Diana Vickers quirky style has seen her soar to pole position to win the X Factor but it’s Northern Ireland’s Eoghan Quigg who has emerged as the dark horse and a real worry for the bookie.

It just won’t be the same without John. Will his exit see increased support go to fellow outsiders in the betting – Jodie and Christine? Will the public exact their revenge by refusing to support the judges’ favourites? Austin Healy remains the even money favourite to toe-tap his way to victory but will the public let him waltz away with it?

Well, Arsenal losing 2-0 at home to Villa lost us the bet.  £100 lost.  Bank down to -£100.

Sunday was no better.  Pod had the great idea of having Everton to bear Boro.  1-1, so another £100 down.  Bank now at -£200.

The weekend has got to be better than this.  Looking at maybe having the All Black -15 to beat the Welsh.

Blackjack is my favourite casino game.  Nowadays I usually play it for free on ladbrokes flash casino.   Lost far too much money in the past.  I found a better half way house between playing blackjack for high stakes and playing blackjack for free.

Play blackjack for 10p.  Its great.  You only win 20p when you win or 30p if you get blackjack.  You can play this at virgin casino.  Usually, blackjack tables are £1 plus, too much temptation to put a fiver or a tenner on.  With 10 pence tables, a big bet is £1.

Need to get back on the winning track this weekend.  Nice simple bet.  Big 4 all to win.  3/1.  Good price I suppose as its only really a bet on Liverpool to beat Bolton and Arsenal to beat Villa.  I can’t see Man U or Chelsea slipping up.

Pagebet are going top price on this.  They are pretty good at doing the specials on accumulators. Boyles are only 11/4 for the same special and usually Boyles are good for bets.

£100 staked.

Wasn’t expecting to have any bets tonight.  Carling Cup is always dodgy due to the joke of a cup it is.  Hardly anyone takes it seriously.  Gets a text from Pod saying, £80 on Swansea again as you’ve buttoned me (meaning I sent his call to voicemail).

Four home wins out of five tonight.  Only upset was Swansea losing 1-0 to Watford.  Just typical.  So bank back down to 0.  Its better than a kick in the balls I suppose.

The weekend should be better.

Strictly come dancing didn’t come up.  That Rachel was the first to be told she was safe so no suspence.  I had an inkling it was going to go tits up.  Volume on SCD is low.  I was watching the odds on betfair and noticed that someone had laid her for a grand.  This is very strange when the previous people were backing and laying for £10 – £20.  Someone had some inside informaton I think.

Anyway, we are in profit thanks to Swansea.  Had a ton on them at 1,85 before commission.  They won 3-1 after being behind.  Bank up to +£81.

Spurs and City win so the first bet of the month comes in.  £116 up.  Some how a make shift Arsenal team turn over Man U so thats a £100 down.  Profit for month is £16.  Its a start.

Tonight we are dabbling in a bit of X-factor betting.  £16 on Rachel Hylton for the 5th Eviction @ 2.5.  Not a clue about this bet.  Just got a call from Pod saying that’s it a bet to spice up the Saturday night.  So we’ll be even or +£40.

Just looking at the odds for this weekend and can’t resist Manchester United at 6/4 to beat a poor Arsenal team.  Rung Pod up and he agrees.  This is the second bet of the new syndicate. As an extra bonus, Boylesport wiil refund the bet if Big Ron scores first or last.

First bet is Spurs/ Man City double tonight.  Price is 2.16 at Betfred and Ladbrokes.  Self barred myself from Ladbrokes so the bet is with Mr Fred.  Both strong favourites with something to prove.
