Back to winning ways

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Chelsea stoll to a 3-0 win.  Listening to it on the radio, it was men against boys.  With the pool 4-0 up its been a good night.  Bank up to +£24.  What a recovery from -£300 Saturday night.

Its been  good night for Chris at tip-ex too  Picked 4 out of 4 winners tonight.

Picked 4 out of 4 winners tonight.

All eggs in 1 basket

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Its the Chelsea basket.  Just looking and Chelsea/ Liverpool double is 1.86.  Another £100 on that.  Liverpool need to win to keep up the pressure on Everton.

If Chelsea fail its game over.  Odds for Chelsea win was actually 1.28 so only printing £56.

Printing money

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Last night we had Man U/ Seville double at 1.9.  Man U win 1-0 and Seville win 3-2.  Bank now -£118.

Tonight’s bet must be Chelsea.   No messing around with Asian Handicaps, Unders/ Overs or anything like that.  Straight win 1.29, £200 staked.  Just like printing £58.  After a 0-0 in Greece there is no way Chelsea can afford not to win this.  They just did West Ham 4-0 at the weekend away.  Printing money I tell you.

Sunderland v Everton - Early Value

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

Following on my previous post, back Everton until the odds go down.  Odds for next weekends match are on betfair.  You can get 2.2 on Everton win.  That’s mad.  Sunderland are a team of Championship players.  I love the quote from Roy Keanne last week against Pompy.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, I would have liked us to have troubled their keeper more. We could have played until midnight and not scored. ”

They failed to score against whipping boys Derby.  I can’t see why Everton aren’t odd on for this. Look at their recent run of form http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/teams/Everton.html

So since that defeat to Liverpool, they’ve gone 18 matches 12-4-2 and the 2 were against Man U and Arsenal.  Draws against Chelsea, Blackburn, Spuds and Pompy.  I’d price this up at about 1.8 for an Everton win.  I’ve had  £50  personally.  No bet for the syndicate though.  We haven’t got much money left and Champions League midweek will need betting on.

Thank you Everton

Everton win 3-1.  So 1 win in 3.  Everton win was 1.925 so +£92.  Bank at -£208.

Guess the moral of the weekend, is don’t listen to other people’s picks blindly.  Hull was straight from the racing post.  Don’t like that division because any team can beat any team on their day.  I suppose there was value there but really shouldn’t be betting on something I know little about.  Barcelona was from Tip-Ex and Bettingzone.  Spurs was Pod’s tip which I wouldn’t have gone for.  Only tip that I picked personally was Everton.

Hindsight is great but the home win for Everton was a great bet considering they are in the top 4.  Imagine getting 1.92 (evens at kick off) for Arsenal, Man U and Co at home to another non-top 4 side.  Bookies might start pricing the odds differently now but I think Everton may be a team back until the end of the season.

Barca lose 4-2 what a wank day

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

3 losses in a row.  Spuds lose 4-1.  Hull lose 2-1 and Barca lose 4-2.  Pity we didn’t have overs on them all.  Postscript to follow.  Fingers crossed for an Everton win or its game over for this month.

Weekend Bets we have backed 01/02 March

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

So after discussion with the Pod, we have come up with 3 more bets.  Spuds, -0.25 against Birmingham 1.85.  Not convinced about this but as Pod is a jammy bastard I’m going with it too.  My initial thought was Spuds but then I remembered Spuds got beat 3-2 at Whiteheart Lane by Birmingham.  Spuds are in limbo now.  They’re not going to get relegated and are guaranteed UEFA cup next year so its hard to gauge their motivation.

Everton to beat Pompey tomorrow.  Everton are on a cracking run of form.  Only 2 losses in their last 17 in the league.  Only Man U and Arsenal have beaten them.  Pompy have over achieved this season and I can see them sinking in to mid table.  Home win 1.93.

Finally, Hull draw no bet against Bristol, 2.88.  Its a tip from the racing post.  They tipped the away win straight at 7/2 but we got on late and decided the draw no bet was a lot safer.

£100 on each.  Plus the £100 on Barcelona.  £400 liability.
